One summer weekend last year when hubbee and I, together with my family and few relatives, went to Villa Martha Picnic Grove in Nagcarlan, Laguna for an excursion. I missed my childhood excursion days when my parents, together with my relatives used to force me in joining their simple and not so expensive out of town swimming. It was my first time in Nagcarlan, so it was my cousin Jomarc who became our road guide. Unfortunately, I’m unable to provide the “how to go to” in this entry.

Villa Martha Picnic Grove is located at Brgy. Silangan, Napapatid, Nagcarlan, Laguna. You can reach them by calling their direct line 049-5633450 or their cellphone number 09175571415. The place is quite known in Nagcarlan because aside from swimming in their pools, guests can also wade in the stream. The resort doesn’t use chlorinated water in the pools as their source of water is the stream. The water that flows there comes from Mount Banahaw directly.

There is an entrance fee that you will just pay thru their staff who will welcome and approach you once you crossed the bridge. They will guide you to the cottage that you can choose. They have free parking for those who will bring their own cars. No corkage fee, you can bring your food and you can also grill anywhere in the resort. There’ also a videoke machine if you want to sing. I just highly suggest that you go to the resort early, most especially during weekends as it gets crowded in the middle of the day.

Villa Martha was established on February 14, 1998. The resort used to call it a “picnic groove”. Few years later, Mr. Gaudencio Francia and his wife, owners of the resort, decided to call it “Villa Martha”. This resort became their family business that helped raised their 3 children. There’s nothing much to expect from the place but a nice resort to hang out with your family. The best part for me is the stream falls area of the resort. Water there is so cold.

Aside from the eight mountains located in Nagcarlan, Laguna, this town also have beautiful places to relax and enjoy. For a classic excursion feel, this place has the perfect setting for it. Next time you’re in San Pablo or Nagcarlan area, try to visit the place and bring your whole family and relatives.
