Our last hotel check-in for our US trip last 2007 was at Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia. This hotel is located at 5000 Seminary Road, with telephone number 1-703-845-1010, the West End of Historic Alexandria, Virginia. It’s just within sight of Washington, DC monuments and attractions that’s why our hosts decided to check us in at that hotel for our last tour, which is in Washington DC. Exactly 5 miles southwest of DC.

The room I got has a Double bed with 2 telephones, data port, coffee maker, iron and board, hairdryer, and On Command video. It also has wireless high-speed internet access available and a mini bar. In this hotel, pets are allowed. Something I noticed at the lobby. Reservation includes free breakfast, which we had at Finn and Porter, their in house jazzy and cool restaurant. The atmosphere is hip and inviting, perfect to jump start your day.

Alexandria is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Like the rest of northern Virginia, as well as central Maryland, modern Alexandria has been shaped by its proximity to the nation’s capital, the Washington DC. It is largely populated by professionals working in the federal civil service, the U.S. military, or for one of the many private companies which contract to provide services to the federal government. It’s really close to Pentagon, one train ride and you’re there already.

After our day tour in Washington DC, we had our dinner at King Street Blues located in St. Asaph Street, South, Old Town. It’s a three story brownstone commercial building that has the interior created by over a half dozen artists according to the service crew. The three quarter life size paper mache characters you’d see once you enter fills the dining rooms and their bar has a backdrop of colorful, nostalgic and whimsical murals. They serve delicious american comfort foods.

It was a quick tour in Alexandria, Virginia. We were told that we were just close to George Washington Masonic National Memorial or also known as the famous Masonic Temple, but since we don’t have much time, we weren’t able to visit the place. Alexandria is located just south of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington County where we had our return flight back to Manila.
