We brought our mom to Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna to celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day. I really make sure that this special day for moms is celebrated to honor the great things that my mom has done for me, for my sister and for our family. And normally, we go out to celebrate it, either do a road trip or just dine out. This time, we decided to celebrate it in Nuvali together with my cousin Julius and our house help Sandra.

Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna is less than an hour south of Makati. Just drive from Makati thru Sta. Rosa Exit of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), or thru Mamplasan Exit. But I usually take the Malitlit Exit (Greenfield City/ETON City/Asia Brewery Inc. Exit), the next exit after Sta. Rosa exit. It’s the farthest exit among all the three but its the easiest and most convenient because of less cars and less traffic.

Nuvali is a new metropolis evolving covering a total land area of 1,600 hectares which will be developed by Ayala Land at unprecedented scale and speed. And this place is very promising as it offers a different approach and will be built in principles of sustainable design: Environmental, Economic and Social sustainability. It’s a different feel when you’re in Nuvali. You feel more “green” when you get there. They have food establishments and call centers are starting to bloom in this area.

When we arrived, we checked out first the bazaar (tiangge) that usually available in Nuvali. You can usually find good stuff for a cheaper price in different stalls lined up there. Some clothes there are branded actually and this bazaar is usually visited by people during weekends. You can find filipino food (snacks), toys, shoes, shirts and other different stuff that you can buy. Hubbee and I purchased a cute bracelet for us. Then, it was time for us to feed our hungry stomach.

We went to Pig Out to have our lunch. It’s a nice place that is somewhat odd were the waitresses and waiters dressed in costumes. For real!!! We were greeted by Pocahontas who also took and served our food. Spider Man and Wonder Woman were around the area too. And what makes them unique from other restaurants in the area? They do dance number to entertain more of their customers. Cool!

We were hungry at that time that we ordered as soon as we settled in. Pocahontas recommended Crispy Pata, one of their best sellers and so we did. And when all of our order was placed on our table, celebration of motherhood and great food started. Haha. Although they are bit pricey, but the quality and the taste of food was not sacrificed. We enjoyed their sumptuous food. And since it’s Mother’s Day celebration, they gave us a complementary Fried Banana Spring Rolls. Nice!

After our lunch, we had our little stroll in the area. There’s nothing much to do in Nuvali but to dine in on a number of restaurants available in the place. For kids, they can enjoy the fish (koi) feeding which is a great entertainment as you’ll enjoy a lot of fish fighting for their lives to get pieces of fish pellets. You can buy fish food for P30.00. Or, if you want to have a quick boat tour, it’s also available in Nuvali.

Then my mom decided to have some dessert at Conti’s restaurant where you can have their very delicious cakes. Since they no longer have an available Mango Bravo at that time, we just had their Viennese Mocha Torte. One small cake divided in to 6. Perfect! And I think this was the best part of the celebration. Haha! I just love all the cakes in Conti’s Restaurant!!!

Over-all, we were able to celebrate Mother’s Day and my mom, who was the star of that day enjoyed the time spent with us. And for me, it was a success. Thanks to Nuvali who became our favorite hang out place because of its close proximity and very relaxing environment. I just love this place…
