Here’s a funny story of me and my good friend Jze in Baguio.

August of 2008, I went to Baguio alone for two things. To have a quick vacation and to meet someone. Someone I have been talking to and exchanging texts for a long time. There was nothing romantic going on between the two of us. When he found out that I am going to Baguio, since he’s just from La Union, he decided to meet me there. Since I am just alone on my quick vacation, which I normally do before, I agreed for the meet up.

To cut the story short, the meet up did not go well. I did not like something which made me very uncomfortable and being alone in Baguio became uneasy for me. And so, that night, I called my two good friends. I asked them if they can go to Baguio and accompany me. Luckily, it was Jze who responded and immediately asked permission from his partner, took a cab, went to Victory Liner, took a bus and went to Baguio to save a friend. Haha!

That’s how to drag a very good friend. Haha.

So my August Baguio trip was accompanied by my little brother, my best friend Jze. He arrived late at night. Picked him up at the terminal and called it a night. Twas a long day for me and it was a surprising day for him. Haha. The next day, we went out to do the normal routine in Baguio, and that’s to visit the tourist spots, eat, walk, and just enjoy the cold weather of this city. We had lunch at Sizzling Plate Restaurant to start off our day.

After our lunch, we visited Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral first to offer some prayers. We took the long way, the 100 steps going up as our little sacrifice before reaching the church.

Then we went to the famous Burnham Park. We strolled around, had corn cob, taho and ice cream, took some pictures, and visited the Ice Skating rink, which is now a carnival area. See my first Baguio entry.

The next day, we went to SM Baguio and did the normal stuff when you’re at the mall. We had our lunch at Teriyaki Boy, our favorite restaurant because we both like boys. Haha. Just kidding.

Then, we went to Mines View Park, and again, to do the regular routine of a tourist in Baguio. Check out the view, check out the souvenir shops, and take some pictures.

Then, we went to Good Shepherd Convent to buy some Ube Jam, ate empanada, and again, took some pictures. There was nothing unique activity on our quick vacation. That was it. Haha.

It was just a time well spent with a good friend. We used to work in the same company and had time to bond, exchange life stories, but when we parted ways, we don’t see each other that regularly. But with that situation, it gave us time to bond and spend one quick vacation in Baguio. The bad situation that turned out to be a good time with a good friend. Now that he’s in Jeddah, I hope we can go back and have another vacation together. But this time, with our good partners. That’s a perfect idea!!!
